Overview

Provinaseᵀᴹ is a recombinant non-specific endonuclease derived from Serratia marcescens, expressed in E. coli and manufactured to GMP grade standards. It hydrolyzes all forms of nucleic acids, single- and double-stranded DNA and RNA, via a Mg²⁺-dependent phosphodiester bond cleavage mechanism, reducing them to 3–5 nucleotide fragments. Provinaseᵀᴹ is widely used in biopharmaceutical manufacturing for host cell DNA (hcDNA) clearance, a critical step in meeting regulatory nucleic acid limits for injectable biologics.
